I recently sent the following as a reply to an e-mail after having been commanded as such: "Have you guys voted yet? Get on it! And no fucking Democrats!" I thought the correspondence appropriate here:
- Yeeaahhh, about that... I'm sure I should just keep my keyboard quiet on this one and say "yes *insert name here*," but I'm feeling particularly saucy this morning - so here it goes: Voting only serves a purpose in a true democracy. This is not, it's a farce. I told you before that I think we're circling the drain; and in the end I'd rather just be the one dodging bullets with a clean conscious knowing that I had nothing to do with this mess. "That's exactly why you should vote dumbass!" You might rebuke. But you'd be wrong. I'm not at all concerned with ending up with the wrong guy over a vote, 'cause they're all gonna be the wrong guy (or jeez, now it could even be the wrong gal). Being in office is no longer about being a public servant, it's about self service; it's about money, power, and influence. And now, more than ever before, the office, no matter how big or small, grants those things in excess. Well I say "puhtuie!" The worst part is that no matter how aware of this situation we the gahl danged people are, or even how spitting outraged we are by it, we the people, the common man, we who are supposed to be being served, don't have the money, the power, or the influence. We no longer have a voice (except for the purpose of pissing and moaning of course, but only until we can suckle on the lies some more into quiet blissful slumber); and I'm sorry, I don't care what we tell ourselves, the damage has been done, we aint gonna make a difference. Countries, empires, civilizations, what have you, have been in this situation before - and I don't recall their options/solutions for fixing their lot to be less than bloody or even realistic, especially now considering what we'd be up against. I haven't given up, I never started, I haven't quit, I'm just not fighting. Long whine short, I think I'll just keep walkin' on the beech with the wife, watching my cable TV, and enjoying the occasional bite o' McDonalds; a crack laden double cheeseburger for 99 cents? C'mon. The booths were kinda outta my way anyhow. Sorry. -
So there.
To be continued...
