...Metallujah, metallujah!!!!
Go tell it on the mountain, Metal's Monster's of Rock are back and they're not screwin' around. I've had the pleasure of getting to oogle like a little school girl over some metal monsters over the last month and it's been a splendiferous 'welcome back' of sorts to "normal life" back in the Good 'Ol US of A.
First, during a much needed and immensely enjoyed visit home, where I was lucky enough to get, and more than thrilled to have, my favorite little sister and her husband and their absolutely perfect…
Ok, side note: My niece is the perfect baby. I mean, I had no doubt that my sister could spawn the perfect li’l brood-monkey, but this thing is disgusting. I’m a nice enough guy to be sure, but I’m not really a “softy,” and this baby-monster is so cute that when I come into a room were she is most assuredly commanding all attention, I have to fight the urge to not swing around back through the door to escape it’s overwhelming cuteness, hoping that the escape hatch behind me opens to the right because I can’t turn left and I’d hate to have to explain later that I knocked myself out fleeing from some kind of horrible baby-demon raining down snarling cuteness and I was afraid that hell was coming with her!... Oh, and personality too boot, I tell ya…
Where was I? Ahh, yes – Metallujah, metallujah! Indeed. So, while at home we were treated to some pretty damn good bands, but one in particular, Zero Ground, really stood out from the rest. I got a couple of cd’s from them to pass around, ‘cause they’re awesome, though admittedly the recording is kinda poor (still friggin’ great for a home made recording though). Don’t get me wrong the cd still rocks, I’ve listened to it at least a dozen times all the way through already, but it’s on stage where these guys really sweat out metalmania and superstardom. I think that’s all I’m in the mood to go on about that right now, though no doubt, these catz truly deserve more praise than they got here.
Ok, attention span… waning, will to continue – almost gone… BUT I MUST!
One last thing that can’t go without mention, not here, not now, is that today - is a most auspicious day indeed. What day is it? Well if you don’t know then GET OUT! Today is the release of Metallica’s new album of course! And oh, so overjoyed am I. Death Magnetic is, well, damnit, it's just tits. I had high expectations, I knew I shouldn’t ‘cause that always ends up badly for me, but alas high expectations were had anyhow and I’ll be a son-of-a-bitch if high expectations didn't get its ass kicked up over its forehead. Thank you, to whomever it may concern. I really needed this album to kick ass, and it does. Admittedly I’ve been listening to this album for more than a week now (tee-hee), and trust me it just keeps getting better and better. And for shits sake people, this is metal, THE GODS of metal no less, if you’re not blaring it at screaming, ear-bleeding, making you have to poop volumes then you’re not getting it’s full amazing force. It’s metal, it’s not recorded to sound good at "shh, the babies asleep" volumes, so checking it out during baby nappy-nap time and condeming the album as “eh, I guess it’s alright” isn’t doing it justice. Turn them shits up! I still get chills several times throughout the album, it is the bamshizznittle; and that’s all I have to say about that.
This post is already way too long, it’s hurting my eyes. Go buy Death Magnetic.
